At Rio Hondo Golf Club, we have four teaching pros on staff to provide our customers high quality lessons personalized for their unique golf swing. We are available to take your calls 7 days a week. Our staff members are professional, courteous, efficient and look forward to teaching your next golf lesson.

Steve LaBarge has been a PGA Member and teaching golf for 25 years. He won the SCPGA Metropolitan PGA Golf Professional of the Year and the PGA Horton Smith Award. Steve has written articles for the Orange County Register on Swing Tips of Golf, taught Mini Tour Players, Major League baseball players, NFL players, Junior World golfers and high school teams. Steve is a Certified Club fitter. Steve offers private, group, and video lesson along with club fittings.

Scott is a graduate of Downey High School where he was a four-year letterman of the golf team. He attended Cal State Dominguez Hills and was a four-year starter. Scott was a member of the Rio Hondo Men's Club and won the club championship in 1984. He has been a member of the PGA since 2006 and has been in the golf business for 25 years at Rio Hondo. During this period Scott has been an instructor as well as tournament director. He has instructed many levels of students, including high school and college players. Among the other levels he has instructed are JR champs, adult group classes as well as individual private lessons. One of the most enjoyable parts of being on the Rio Hondo Staff has been the interaction with members and the outside events hosted at the club.

Greg has been on staff at Rio Hondo for 15 years. He became a PGA Professional in May of 2013. Greg played varsity golf at Warren High School in Downey and has participated in several Southern California PGA tournaments. Greg loves teaching golf and building the game for future generations. In November 2016, Greg became TPI Certified and a U.S. Kids Certified Junior Coach. As Player Development Coordinator, he creates fun clinics and events throughout the year to help you improve your golf game and then test your skills in fun competitions. Greg is available for private lessons while also teaching junior and family group lessons.

Robert has been on staff for 16 years and is a PGA Apprentice and TPI Certified. He played four years of varsity golf for Warren High School and four years of collegiate golf for Cypress College and UMass Lowell. Robert won the NCAA New Hampshire Invite and took his school to their first NCAA regional championship while attending UMass Lowell. He loves teaching the game and sharing his insight about game improvement and course management.
